Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the outcome of practical seminar for teaching profession on the Health and Physical Education Teacher Education (HPETE) programs from the viewpoint of preservice Health and Physical Education (HPE) teachers' beliefs about the “HPE teacher”. Participants were 115 preservice HPE teachers who are took practical seminar for teaching profession on the HPETE programs at the college. They were selected because they possess a will to be a HPE teacher. Data were collected through the report performed at the end of a lecture. Preservice HPE teachers were asked to make reports regarding the ideal “HPE teacher”. Their reports data were analyzed using KJ method. Trustworthiness was established through negative case analysis and peer debriefing. As a result, following points were clarified. Preservice HPE teachers possessed belief about HPE teacher who form teaching skills and knowledge about HPE class and the ability of the student guidance through reflective practice continually. In addition, preservice HPE teachers don't have belief about the role as coach of extracurricular sports activities but teacher of PE class teaching. Some research of HPE teacher's socialization has indicated that almost preservice HPE teachers enter HPETE programs primarily because they want to coach extracurricular sports activities. On the other hand, participants of this article indicated belief about teacher with HPE teaching orientations as the outcome of practical seminar for teaching profession on the HPETE programs. Future research is needed on the empirical studies research about formative process of preservice HPE teachers' beliefs about “HPE teacher” in HPETE programs.
