抄録: In this paper we presented the case of a girl with severe mental ratardation who was in the sixth grade. She displayed passivity and refused what she disliked stubbornly. Her body showed hypertonia and she flopped and walked heavily with her standing posture like a reversed hiragana‘く’. In the training to her we applied DOSA Method,which is the way of helping to develop by coaching movements, because we considered that the method tended to draw forth unovert potentiality a girl with severe mental retardation. We studied her movements and mental condition in the training and in her daily life, and we also investigated the mechanism of development. There were some progress in her that occurred in her training during three months and one year. Though she was unconscious of her own body and reluctant to exercises at the beginning, she became conscious of her body and addressed the trainings while she moved her body, being helped by her trainer. As a result she learned to relax her excessive muscle tension and improved her standing posture by making her buttocks shift forward. At the same time, she began to show spontaneous movement in training and could do new movement, which made her face more expressive and her gaze movement controlled.she came to mix up with others.
