Abstract: | Physical-education teachers have taken a major role in student counseling and guidance for passive purposes in schools, but they are expected to function in that for active purposes. Exercise for “Body Disentangle”, “Body/Mind Awareness”, and “Focusing” developed in psychotherapy seem to be useful for active purposes. In this study, what “body awareness” means was made clear in “Body Disentangle”, “Body/Mind Awareness”, and “Focusing” and it was found that “body awareness” of “Focusing” had more components than that of “Body Disentangle” and “Body/Mind Awareness”. Then the relationship between these practices and student counseling and guidance for active purposes was examined. Relaxation and contact with others in “Body Disentangle” and “Body/Mind Awareness” were considered to be powerful for mental health and psychological development of students. At the same time, awarencess of “felt sene” in “Focusing” was considered an effective way for self-understanding. Finally, it was suggestd that physicaleducation teachers who had practiced “Body Disentangle” and learned “Focusing” would be able to give student counseling and guidance for active purposes. |
