Abstract: | The purpose of this study was to examine effects of dry land training with upper and lower limb on swimming performance. Fifteen female collegiate swimmers were divided into training group and non-training control group. Before and after 4weeks training session, 100m crawl performance measured in the 25m pool, mean power by arm and leg were measured by using arm ergometer and bicycle ergometer. Peak blood lactate concentration and rate of decline of the power were measured all tests. No significant changes found 100m crawl performance. Training group significantly improved arm mean power. In contrast, control group improved leg mean power. Results indicate that 4wk of leg training may significantly improve anaerobic power. The effect is not seen immediately, but an effect will be given in the future. |
