Abstract: The purpose of this study is to establish a teaching method to acquire the safe and effective swim-start. The subjects were 10 female collegiate recreational swimmers. we taught swim-start lesson for 30 minutes two times at the each class. We analyzed the swimmers motion and compared it to their motion a pre-test and a post-test to the lessons. As a result ①They could be a low posture by bending the knee joint (pre-test : 129.25±8.74 deg, post-test : 107.94±11.72 deg, p<0.05). ②They were able to do “far in extending arms” and “lean the body forward”, attitude angle of take-off (pre-test : 28.08±4.90 deg, post-test : 21.15±8.02 deg, p<0.05) and attitude angle of entry (pre-test : 28.87±5.59 deg, post-test : 18.54±8.91 deg, p<0.05) was reduced. As mentioned above, our hypothesis is supported. In order to perform more effective teaching, it is necessary to add to jump from the poor-side and to get down the head and eyes at the time of diving.
