17～18世紀フランスにおけるオペラ＝バレエの初演状況

Abstract

Ope´ra-ballet is a genre of French lyric theatre that enjoyed popularity in the late 17th and early 18th century. Despite the fact that the importance of the genre as a choreo-musical spectacle has been acknowledged, too little study has been given to the subject up to the present. One of the reasons for this paucity is that the problems related to the definition and classification of ope´ra-ballet have not been fully clarified. Considering the fact that the definition of the genre differs through the centuries, we have attempted to establish a list of the ope´ras-ballets produced in 17th and 18th century-France, based on the 18th century-catalogue“Ballets, Ope´ra, et autres ouvrages lyriques”(1760) by Louis-Ce´sar de La-Beaume-le-Blanc Lavallie｀re. This list shows which works were classified as“ope´ra-ballet”in those days, and it will serve to elucidate the abovementioned problems.
